They have forums for this sort of thing, EH? But yes, thank you, that is very helpful. It's dumb for me to try to use an analog 4-track cassette recorder when it's this simple to get good software that does more and eliminates the hisses and crackles of a tape.
I first encountered Cakewalk when I was working at an EB. We would get in different applications and my boss, who was cool, would pass it on off to the staff for their recommendations. I played around with it and loved it. I think it was written for Windows 3.11, but it worked on everything I put it on up to XP, which I simply didn't try.
I recommended that Electronics Boutique carry Cakewalk (and Mac apps) so if they went on and failed to do either, well, it wasn't our store's fault! If you walked in looking for the original X-COM and couldn't find it, it might have been our (my) fault because, although I had it on CD, I bought the last floppy copy (which was the last copy the store ever had shipped) because I hated the customers so much I wanted them to not experience it.
