totally agree with the overrated section but honestly man, what the hell? galactic civilizations is probably the best game in your whole list! I'm a 4X fan, so not the most impartial judge, but still, despite all you might have against it, it's no competition against any of the other semi-achieving 100. Virtual Villagers on the other hand deserves all your trashing and more, that game makes me gag, i really can't conceive who in their right mind would give this title any attention let alone elevate it to top-rated ranks! those tasteless reviews made for the worst waste of my time ever.

I know how it's like to make a list and then have a legion of people commenting on how it lacks. I just happen to be one of those people, so sorry in advance. There's too much shmups in there (not really your fault since most indie games are), but you've missed some pretty cool games and included some pretty lame ones. But hey, it's your list not mine. Just wanted to contribute with some titles that you should really give a try, if you don't know them already:

Starscape's creators Mr Robot redefines indie if you ask me, isometric apart, it's damn pro league! (though probably too recent to make your list)
I'm pretty sure i didn't see FreeCiv on your list, did i miss it, or did you? =P
Maniac Mansion Deluxe for the nostalgic ones.
Liero takes a leap of faith to play but you'll be glued to it in no time, one of the most addicting mini-games out there!
Little Fighter for the 2-player option and for reviving the gaming experience of the classic Double Axe!

that's from the top of my head. I've got a pretty respectable collection if you're interested in taking the list-exchanging further.
