You are an intelligent and compassionate man, but there is nothing perfect under heaven; your weakness is your total addiction to hooks. You will overlook anything for them, the way gay manic-depressive german-wannabe men overlook sleeping with Umberto in manic-depressive women.

How did you know that? Has it become that obvious? There is a little too much information floating about ol Ice Cream Jonsey out there these days. I am posting exclusively as VORPoster again until this all calms down a little. You're right, obviously, and I would overlook anything for them. I am amazed that teenagers that can't play their instruments very well and are autotuned are still able to (barely) develop melodies and hooks that speak to my brain. I don't like being wired that way. Do you know why I have been murdering all the bulky and goofy robots I find in Fallout 3? Because they don't like being wired in their own way either, and I put them out of their misery, because I can't do so to myself. (When I consider hanging myself over the shame of enjoying pop music, I begin to lay out the CD I want played at my funeral and then get cheered up.)

Until someone starts making punk/disco songs about architecture, Poni Hoax is as close as we will ever get to an area of compromise, you and I:

That is a fair compromise. It was all right to my ears, which I guess is what compromise is. Actually, I hated the disco beat for years and then I heard this song. I am not saying that what I linked is, in any way, shape or form, some great song, but I am saying that the chorus/hook is a gateway to disco drumming for people that don't like disco.

BONUS: Just because I was watching it recently, David Bowie doing "Stay" on German TV in '78. I love this cacaphonous performance particularly - overworked, overamped, a little desperate.

For the record, my favorite Bowie songs are Modern Love and the soundtrack to The Fountain, parts of which desperately wanted to "be" Bowie. But you probably knew that, too.
