Cartridge Based Consoles Will Return Within Two Console GenerationsPreditor: Ray of Light
Challenger: Fussbett
Stakes: Bragging
Win Condition: Two of the three major console makers must have a system that uses a cartridge to deliver the game to the system. If there are only two console makers left, then only one needs to be cartridge based. "Two generations" from now will be marked when Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft have all released two more TV-set top systems, or have announced they will no longer release a system. "Cartridge" is defined as a piece of console-specific hardware that contains media and at least one microchip or equivalent. A cartridge cannot be any off-the-shelf media storage solution, but must be custom made for the console, not just custom-formatted. The following do not count as cartridges, nor will their future equivalent:
- flash cards
- optical media
