I'll switch that to "Twilight Zone" then. I think everyone was getting carried away with the story's title, or in extreme cases, dissecting hidden meaning behind subway stops. Gehenna can mean simply the concept of purgatory or hell. Show a couple of connected people and how each of their lives can go to their own custom path to hell. The events are different and sometimes contradicting because it's a story that does whatever the author wants. I'm going with the simplest explanation that it's showing the worst case scenario for each character, which have to be contradicting if the worst case is finding your spouse committing suicide. That was simple!


That said, it wasn't very good. Multiple events with a common bridge that made them at least one-third nearly the exact same text. Would the story have caught anyone's eye if it had just skipped forward to the unique parts of each passage? Let's face it, the main hook of the story was "Cool, it's fine if I just skim these parts till I get to something different." It's an easy read! Skim away! Some might feel guilty later on for putting in so little effort that they go back and start counting street numbers or dusting off those French philosophy books.
