You're completely correct in hating the Seattle PD, though. From gassing completely uninvolved pedestrians during protests to blowing away black people point blank while offduty just for being in a white neighborhood, the boys in blue around here are a never-ending source of shame. They're not all bad eggs, of course - I jaywalked completely without noticing it (didn't even notice there was a crosswalk sign as I was totally looking in the wrong direction in a relatively car-free area downtown) right next to a protest and was treated nice enough when I mentioned I'd gone 48 hours without sleep due to insomnia (I definitely looked it). Of course, in Bellevue, forget it - they WILL ticket you for jaywalking. Fortunately Bellevue doesn't have a lot of cops because Bellevue doesn't need a lot of cops, just investigators for all the shit getting stolen from the law-abiding rich white people (city of 150,000, no murders in 5 years).
