Well, our guys are currently kicking asses all over the desert. Chemical Ali is now a has-been (has been living, that is), and Saddam is probably going to pop out of his bunker in 30 years like Brendon Fraser in 'Blast from the Past'. Actually, that could be a funny film, kind of like Dr. Schivago...
Anyway, Saddam Internation Airport is now 3rd Infantry's Bitch International Airport, and we are 0wNing pretty much all of Baghdad. Word is some General defected, and so did a shitload of 'l33t' Republican Guards.
Honestly, I think Afghanistan was harder, since there were more people there both willing to fight us, and less people willing to help us. Also, on the sliding scale of civilization, Afghanistan seems to have fallen into Cromagnon territory, whereas Iraq hasnt been mentally plundered; maybe its the wealth from the oil getting passed around, or the fact that Saddam wasnt *as bad* as the Taliban. I'm sure the differences between the two would be interesting, but it seems the problems from Afghanistan, no longer being the flavor of the week, arent getting any scrutiny or press.
Anyway, hopefully the most difficult work of the wetwork has already been done. |
