Oh, I dont deny there are ulterior motives at work. Im just questioning two things: when are there not, and why should I (or even the Iraqi citizens) care?
My point was that yes, things are done for a reason. But the effects of those actions have more results than just what the goal was for. For example, a country has been given freedom because America wants to make sure it can get an uninterrupted, steady supply of crude oil, liquid gold, texas tea. So does Habib Iraqi on the street really care that about a decision a bunch of assholes from Texas made, or is he just happy because now he can say Saddam is an asshole without living in fear of getting tortured and killed?
So here is some anti-spin for you: show me a SINGLE war that ANYONE has fought that didnt have ulterior motives. Unless you are going into caveman era barbarian raids, I just dont see it happening. |
