Dunno about the old Might & Magics. I have a few rather unkind words to say about M&M7 in case someone forces that upon you. Speaking of which, never never motherfucking NEVER let anyone force M&M7 upon you. If I'm not mistaken the good Mischief Maker has similar feeling about M&M6.
Wizardry Gold isn't bad at all, but fucking christ, I hate RPGs that force you to build characters with a randomly generated "pool" of attribute points, thus guaranteeing that you're going to sit there for fifty+ minutes "rerolling" to maximize the points you get, naturally only to click "reroll" just after you rolled an ungodly incredible number because your finger became too twitchy at that point. JUST LET ME CREATE A FUCKING LIONTAUROID PALADIN ALREADY MOTHERFUCKER.
Ultima Underworld's 1 & 2 are fine IMO. They don't hold up over time all that well since they play like really crappy FPSs to an extent, but at the time of their release they were marvelous, thus I loved them.
The Bard's Tale games are fun. Not sure how I can really delve into greater detail, especially since I haven't played any of them in years and years. I think Dragon Wars (which is essentially the same game) is better in pretty much every imaginable way. The Construction Set was fun to play with for a bit.
Stonekeep - I've heard nothing but bad-to-awful things about it. |
