I've seen APC three times (opening for NIN, the first time) and Tool twice. The highlight of the APC performances each time were the covers, Ashes to Ashes, etc, as well as random shit like the tapeworm project song (Perfect enemy or something). Tool was an experience from beginning to end that is difficult to describe, not in the existential sort of way I think they were aiming for but mainly because the music was so...hard and just asskicking when it was live. Plus they had those bizzarro nude mime-people.
Both were good, but Tool was just...I dunno. APC just felt too much like an imitation. |
