Once again, not speaking for BDR here, but for me? Yeah it's more than 'difficult'. You'll notice me failing all over these boards - a lot of the time I'm joking, but I fail even when I'm being dead serious. Innate human tribalism is difficult to overcome, and that's the understatement of the century. You remember that stupid movie where the computer comes to the conclusion that the only way to win Global Thermonuclear War is 'not to play' and the audience basically says, to a man, 'hey no shit'?

The only way for people 'not to play' is to throw away tribalism, dogma, and values that have no rational basis and stop killing each other needlessly - part of that process involves not celebrating death. We're men, not savages, and we ought to be above that.
