This makes me very sad. Part of the reason I haven't resorted to cheats and have been taking my time unlocking them was because I knew they wouldn't throw in a decent arena but didn't have the heart to find out for sure.

I definitely haven't heard anything about a sequal OR the usage of the fighting engine which is a shame since it really does have potential.

Take exactly what they have, throw in a few guns, hand out experience (with bonuses for combos or extra violent kills), add a dash of bullet time and some Powerstone arena interactivity and you have a hit.

Gunplay would be handled the same way as hand-to-hand but the targeting bars would reach further and handle more erratically. (Similar to the axe, automatic or spread weapons could allow for more targeting bars.)

Lots of things they could do with it .. too bad.
