Assuming the Xbox/PC version hasn't been rebalanced, Elves are actually completely overpowered. Their slightly lower power levels are more than made up for by their obscenely low charging speed, and Anwen's sniper shot is a game breaker in difficulty 5 quick battles. And don't get me started on those fucking unicorns.
No need to save scum, you can grind XP and money in caves, alleys, and other side locations during the campaign. In the Elf campaign you can grind in the cave with the necromancer, and in the unicorn tree. The only time you should be seriously frustrated over losing elites/champions is if you manage to lose your entire force in which case they won't get XP, but that's about it. You're more likely to lose the battle than burn through all 10 elites in a single fight.
Personally, Puzzle Kingdoms in quick battle mode is my favorite of these RPG puzzle games, but I will readily admit I may be insane in this assessment. |
