| I'm leary of dropping 50 bucks on this, because while I loved 3 + XL, there were enough things wrong with 4 to make me not want to own it. If Samurai Warriors was any indication of their design ideas, they wised up to a number of the mistakes in 4 (duels, leveled weapons as opposed to dropped weapons, although SW had its own nearly-game-crippling flaw in castle stages). I don't have a problem with the "more of the same" thing that every reviewer seems to have (I especially love the ones who say that 5 is better than 4 and then grade it lower based on the fact that it's "more of the same") and I certainly don't mind trading up from 3 to 5 if it's that much of an improvement.
I may answer my own question with a rental, assuming I can find it anywhere. But I figured I would ask because I think curst and I have about the same view on 3 vs. 4, and his threads on the games made me check them out in the first place. |
