In a tag battle, you get to determine which CO is taking the lead and plan your strategy to take full advantage of both CO's powers. For example, the inexperienced but wealthy CO named Colin has weaker units but can purchase them for lower-than-usual prices. You can put him in the lead whenever you need to buy reinforcements, and then switch to a tougher CO, like Max, in order to dish out the damage.
That sounds....broken. Also negating the entire point of balanced strengths and weaknesses of the CO's. This sounds like something they shoehorned in just to fit with the whole dual screen theme, or an unnecessary mechanic just to say they have something new like two drivers in the latest Mario Cart.
I suspect it's just like those stupid missions at the end of the campaign where you're controlling 2-3 seperate armies that don't share resources while fighting someone like Sturm who has a ridiculous stat/positional advantage. At least I hope that's what it is.
I don't think so. They specifically mention "combining" CO's , then go on to list the most broken combo possible: the cheap but weak units of Colin combined with the super strong units of max (or Kanbei). I can't imagine any other combo anyone would want to play.
I guess AW1 was so perfectly balanced that anything they add can only break it a little more.At least in 2 they weren't that bad (neotanks being flat out better than medium tanks in every way). Except the pipes that even air units couldn't fly over. Fuck pipes.

Sadly, Andy is back and looks like he needs a punch in the face more than ever. Maybe this time he'll let the bad guys go again so he can have another ice cream party.

My favorite part of AW2 was when Max finally lost it and openly called Andy a retard.
Mine was when they used Andy's retardedness as a device for the tutorial with him not knowing anything about everything and having to ask. This lead to his best line in the entire series, "What's an airport?" |
