Yes, but that wasn't the problem I encountered--it might have become too hard eventually, but I stopped because of tedium. (I was playing on an NES incidentally!)

Ehh it wasn't so harsh in Solar Jetman, since you did have an energy meter. You could rub the wall for a bit, and then even if you lost your pod you could go back and probably get another one for free. It's just that it takes forever to do that, and then when you're done the next thing you have to do is drag some heavy thing over the same path you just took, and that's the core of the game. Apparently I used to feel enough sheer enchantment with the act of flying around in space that this was tolerable.

One thing people don't seem to mention much about Silver Surfer--and the sole reason why anyone should care about that game in my opinion--is that it has amazing music (by genius composer Tim Follin and possibly also his brother Geoff).
