I'd like to hear of what are your favorite types of (electronic) games. Since I don't necessarily know what each particular game's genre is, try to give a summary. Some games are multiple classes, the Half-Life 2 series are both puzzle and shooter, so I created a new class for both
Simple Strategy: Tic-Tac-Toe, Chess
Simulated 3D shooter: Doom, Duke Nukem 3D (Simulated 3d doesn't allow real "level above level")
Actual 3D shooter: Quake 1, 2, 3, possibly Doom 3, Descent, Team Fortress, Counter-Strike
Puzzle-Based (2d or 3d): Portal, Portal the Flash Game, Super Mario 64, Tetris
Both Puzzle and 3D shooter: Half Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode 1, HL2 Ep 2, Max Payne
Turn-Based: Starcraft 2
Construction or world building: (Additional or third-party capability in Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, user-made maps for Half-Life 2, Ep1, Ep 2);
Actual purpose of game: Sim City; Garry's Mod for Half-Life 2, Portal or Counter-Strike; The Sims 2 and 3 and add-on packs;
So, do you have any games that fall into these classes or are there other ones and what games do you like?
Those are some crazyass categories. Do they even make simulated 3D shooters anymore? The problem with 3D has always been the cap it sets. You can't be swarmed by so many enemies it will make some guys card crap out somewhere. I don't think they make these games anymore, except maybe in some classroom somewhere.
