There used to be a lot of different win conditions (getting your name in lights up on the news in a big way was one for me), but over time they all got anemic. At this point there are maybe two or three ways left aside from what fabio did that anyone can get with enough work and brainpower: You can be a spy or a fleet commander, the puzzlebox there being alliance politics. Trolls and manipulators can have fun if they can stomach the company, I never could. You can collate a huge shitload of information and influence markets, making trillions if you keep at it long enough. I know wall street fucks who did this in EVE. Spreadsheets Online, etc. Both require a certain amount of catassing. I stopped feeling the need to play after I understood every system and its limitations. And saw the devs acting like children.
