Codenames Duet by Mischief Maker 02/03/2025, 4:44pm PST ...codenames duet! It's play is almost identical to Mysterium Park but sacrifices the beautiful art for much more straightforward gameplay where both players are constantly juggling the "detective" and "ghost" roles. Between the players is a 5x5 array of 25 random words, 15 of which are code names for secret agents you need to make contact with in a limited amount of turns while avoiding the assassin. The players have a double-sided answer key on a small stand between them that give an incomplete map of where the agents and assassins are on the array, only together will they find all 15. Each turn one player can give a clue in the form of one word and one number, the number indicating how many words that clue applies to. Since you only have 9 rounds, you really want to clear multiple names every turn. It's a fun game, if a bit spartan in the art department. They have an optional metagame where you can play a campaign moving between cities on the world map with different amounts of rounds or acceptable incorrect (non-assassin) guesses. And the clue cards are double-sided so you can quickly flip them all for a second round. My only complaint is while some board games have cleverly designed boxes that hold everything neatly, Codenames just comes in a regular box with a shitload of ziplock bags included.
