They started testing Copilot integration in Github on their own .NET (and presumably other) source code. It initiates code changes, does a crap job, and then devs have to go around, and around, and around with it as it repeatedly doesn't fix the issue, introduces new bugs, breaks tests, etc.
One of the best observations in that thread is that AI is programmed to confidently present results no matter how wrong they are but also be absolutely deferential to you. So, if you tell it it's wrong, it has no capacity to contradict you and assert its own accuracy and instead will apologize and make whatever change you ask for regardless of whether you're right. It's like the ultimate yes-man. |
