Well there were some things I liked about: the atmosphere and the interface. The story wasn't BAD, though like others said it got worse as it went on. The biggest beef I have with it and the reason I really hate it is because it ultimately boils down to a "put-the-jelly-doughnut-in-the-donkey's-ass(arf arf)-then-jam-the-lost-carkeys-into-your-mouth type of game. There were parts of the game that screamed PUZZLE (i.e. the statues on the island) and these weren't actually bad because at least you knew you were looking for a logical solution. But some of the other parts were totally gay and arbitrary. ***SPOILERS*** The whole scene in front of the theatre with the fucking trash can then in the alley with the whatever the fuck was so fucking random I almost split my head open.

I grew up loving Lucasfilm games (Zak McKraken, Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, etc) and my recollection fails me as to exactly how arbitrary their soutions were, but it seemed to make some sense, anyway.

Actually, I didn't think it was that bad. I agree about the part in front of the theater, and ####SPOILER#### the soda-goes-in-the-paint-shaker part, but I found the puzzles to be far more logical than, say, Gabriel Knight and Sam n Max. That **SPOLIER** fucking mime puzzle in Gabriel Knight held me up for a year.

The soda totally fucked me over too. But at that point I was in a try everything with everything else mode so it came eventually. Anyway, i was thinking of picking Grim Fandango up on the cheap if anyone has any thoughts.

Grim Fandango is good. TLJ got me with the fake eyeball bit, since I wasn't even thinking about dicking around with the monkey. It was funny though, since the bit where you switched eyes repeated about five hundred times. Clumsy constipated bastard.

I was cool with TLJ for the most part. There have been way worse puzzles in a game than the ones in there, IMO. But, it seemed like they left some parts of the story dangling, like those bird people, some love story thing between two of them that started but never happened. I guess the worst part for me was having to answer the dumbest-ass questions ever. Well, I guess I am supposed to be a teenage girl, but I cringed every time I had to ask "The Foobleglud? What's THAT for?" after someone just explained it to me sufficiently. And then they'd go "AAAH!! I TOLD YOU ITS TO TWEEZE YOUR TAINT PUBES YOU STUPID BI-" or whatever. Jeez, I can't believe you guys all played it. I thought only Roop and I did (where is that fag, anyway?)
