When I deleted Phoenix Wright 1 and put the rom for Phoenix Wright 3 on the microSD and put it into the R4, it popped in, and now the microSD won't come out anymore. I could probably get it to come out if I unscrewed the R4 and opened it up to remove the thing, maybe, but I don't even know. It still works, and I don't have any remaining roms I'd want to swap. Unless some really cool DS games come out later (like the Final Fantasy 4 remake, which I did want to try). I'm not sure what I'll do about that.


I asked sloarchan, which has actually been a surprisingly reliable source about R4 questions, and one person said you can open it with a screwdriver and fiddle with the thing to get it out, or pull it out with tweezers (I dunno about that one). Apparently it's just the locking mechanism, either it's broke or it just needs to reset perhaps. I did kind of expect this from an unofficial piece of hardware made by some HAXORS in China. Also I think newer R4s don't have the spring lock thing mechanism. Maybe. So I just missed out on that.


Yeah the microSD did just pull out with the tweezer (carefully, I don't want to snap the damn thing in half, LOOKS LIKE I'M A BREAK THIS DAYUM THING AW HAYUL NAW). When I pushed it back in it didn't feel like it was going in securely all the way, but it did stay in, won't just slide back out, and continued to work. Better than having to unscrew the R4 really.
