That was the one where I quit FF for good. The entire second act is performing therapy for each and every one of your party members. Help the knight get over his survivor guilt. Help the gambler get over his survivor guilt. Help the ninja get over his... survivor guilt. Help the half-fairy chick find the strength to abandon the orphans she's carin for, possibly out of survivor guilt, by slaughtering YET ANOTHER monster, making her realize, "I can fight! See ya, orphans! Gotta kill something!"
Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) is the only Final Fantasy game that doesn't suck and is probably the best Jap RPG of all time and there looks like no serious chance anyone in japan will recreate that experience anytime soon, especially because of the otherwise great Disgaea shifting the emphasis way too much towards powerleveling. |
