Those piles of garbage all contain precious memories. They're physical manifestations of the same urge that drives you to post about the adventures of your penis, and they're every bit as interesting. For reference's sake, I will inform you that the room with the stained carpeting is in fact the library, which contains as well as my many books a piano, two violins, a mandolin, a tasteless chandelier, many dozens of ornate bottles in which I concoct and age liqueurs, a calligraphy table with pens and whatnot all over it, a window full of heavy velveteen curtains which overlooks some well-grown mountain ash trees, an assortment of teacups that I've failed to return to the kitchen, an antique wall scroll depicting a scene from Genji Monogatari, and some very ugly furniture.
It is a room which particularly delights me; it's as much my workshop as the garage, which is richly laden with all manner of inscrutable firey tools, is the Weaponsmith's. When I come back to it from trips I always feel a bit like an adventurer walking into a wizard's study, and then I remember that everything in it is mine and I can go and play with whatever I like.
So I take it very hard when you insult my carpeting, and I wish you would stop.
