Thank you, speciality of the house.
Would you or would you not sign up for the armed forces and serve in a war against Iraq?
Remember: Iraq is very dangerous and threatening to our national security.
HOW DARE YOU QUESTION MY CONVICTIONS!!!!!!!1
In point of fact, when I was 18 I was interviewing with a University of Chicago (I think that was the school, coulda been UIC I suppose) alum and I told him that I was not committed to college and was considering going into the Army. This guy was an incredible snob, and I wondered later whether he told the school that I was a loser or something (I was, but that's not the point) because I was rejected. My grades were so-so, so there's that too. I decided not to partly at the urging of my mother, and partly because I wasn't sure exactly what the hell I wanted to do. Anyway, it's a moot point now, and in fact it was back then too but I didn't know it. I can't join the military because of medical reasons that you don't need to know about. Actually, though, now that I think about it, it's possible that they'd accept me now. To answer your question, I would consider it.
I'm considering it now, although to be perfectly honest, I'm leaning toward "no" at this moment.
What's the relevance of this, anyway? You think I'm a warmonger who delights in sending people to their deaths and watching it all on TV with some popcorn or something?
You know what? That alum jerk had been an Army doctor, too, IIRC. What an asshole. You should have heard him go on about the Aztecs (we had an exhibit at the Denver Museum of Natural History on them at the time). Borderline racist. |
