You should probably mention Ketsui's gimmick: by Mischief Maker 06/30/2026, 11:41am PDT Some shmups are about destruction in a continuous chain (Dodonpachi), some are about scraping bullets to power up (Psyvariar), some are about collecting every single score chit without missing any (Dangun Feveron), some are about bouncing enemy shots back into their face (Giga Wing) and some are about powering up hyper mode and executing it at the perfect time to maximize destruction/score. Ketsui's gimmick is destroying enemies at point-blank range. You'll know you're close enough because they drop bigger and bigger score chits for you to shlorp up the closer you get.
